Privacy Policy — SHARNAGATI

This Privacy Policy explains how the SHARNAGATI mobile application ("the App", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. The App is operated by Krish Mehra ("the Operator"). By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

SHARNAGATI is a devotional community application for members of an ISKCON congregation. It provides spiritual content, community features, event reminders, a personal health-records area, donation facilities, and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account details: your full name, spiritual (initiated) name, email address, phone number, gender, and date of birth.
Spiritual and life dates: wedding anniversary, Harinam Diksha date, and Brahmana Diksha date, used to send celebratory greetings within the community.
Health information: if you choose to use the Devotee Care feature, the health-report files you upload (such as images or PDF documents) and a self-managed checklist of health tasks.
Donation information: donation amounts, the cause or event you donate to, and the payment confirmation screenshots you upload. We do not collect or store card or bank credentials; donations are made directly via UPI outside the App.
Content you submit: feedback, reflections, questions, wishes, test answers, and similar content you create in the App.

Information collected automatically

Push notification token: a device identifier used to deliver notifications to you.
Usage information: basic information about how you use App features, such as which features you open and your test submissions and scores.

Sensitive health data. Health-report files you upload through Devotee Care are treated as sensitive personal information. They are stored in a private, access-restricted location and are not visible to other members of the congregation. They can be viewed only by you and by a designated senior administrator for the purpose of pastoral health coordination. You may delete your uploaded reports at any time from within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and verify your membership.
To provide App features such as spiritual content, community lists, event and fasting reminders, classes, tests, and donations.
To send you notifications you have enabled, such as class-live alerts, festival greetings, reminders, and account updates.
To allow designated administrators to coordinate community care, verify donations, and respond to your feedback and requests.
To maintain the safety, security, and proper functioning of the App.

3. How Your Information Is Stored and Protected

Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database and storage provider, on our behalf. Access to data is controlled by security rules so that you can generally see only your own information, except where features are explicitly shared with the community (for example, member name lists or leaderboards that show names and scores).

Health-report files are kept in a private storage area and are served only through temporary, time-limited secure links to authorised viewers. Push notifications are delivered using Expo, a notification service provider.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. Your information is shared only:

With our service providers (Supabase and Expo) strictly to operate the App.
With designated administrators of the congregation, limited to what each administrator role is permitted to see for community coordination, donation verification, and care.
Within community features that are visible to other members by design (such as member directories, celebration greetings, and test leaderboards that display names and scores).
Where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

5. Notifications

The App sends push notifications for events you have enabled. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings. In-app notifications appear in your notification centre and are automatically removed after a period of time, except for important items such as confirmed one-to-one session bookings, which remain until the session has passed.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can view and edit your profile information within the App.
You can delete your uploaded health reports at any time.
You can disable notifications via your device settings.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below. We will act on such requests within a reasonable time, subject to any records we are required to retain.

7. Children and Families

The App is intended for the general congregation and may be used by people of all ages. If you are a minor, you should use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent may contact us to have it reviewed and removed.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. Donation records may be retained for accounting and receipt purposes. When you request account deletion, we remove your personal data except where retention is required by law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
